NguDoni, born Donald Sibanda is an independent rapper and songwriter from Bulawayo the second largest city of Zimbabwe. Born and raised in one of Bulawayo`s oldest townships of Mzilikazi, known for giving birth to a lot of talented individuals such as legendary footballing brothers of Adam (RIP) and Peter Ndlovu. NguDoni is a prolific wordsmith known for his blunt and brut style and always getting straight to the point when he writes. This time he blesses us with a special tribute to Zimbabwe’s founding father Joshua Mgqabuko Nyongolo Nkomo (RIP). The tribute is titled Nyongolo paying homage to Father Zimbabwe’s legacy. The Nationalist who was buried on the 5th of July is remembered on this day and for this whole month Zimbabwe will keep the National Heroe’s name alive.
For those not in the know, the masked rapper’s hip hop journey dates back to 2011 and has over the years built his discography with collaborations with predominantly Bulawayo artists, namely Kaizermore from Makokoba Township Records (MTR), Mr. Nqoza, AWA KHIWE, Lights Outs & Dee Moses among others. NguDoni has proved his mettle as a solo act and has gone on to drop a 3 part mixtape titled the Balaclava Mixtape named after his trademark head and face shield.
